Simpkins Family Swim Centers offers opportunities for kids ages 5 to 16 to participate in aquatics camps including Junior Lifeguards and Little Guards! Our goal is to provide programming that is safe, high-quality, and fun!

Little Guards (Ages 5-6)

The Santa Cruz County Parks Little Guard program will provide your child with an understanding of the skills required to become aquatically proficient by emphasizing fun and physical fitness through a variety of activities specifically aimed at children ages 5 & 6. All the sessions will consist of conditioning activities on land, swimming lessons and activities either in the Warm Water Pool or Splash Down pool (both heated to 88 degrees), lifeguard demonstrations and special activity days. Junior Guards (Ages 7-13)

The Santa Cruz County Parks Junior Guards program will provide your child with an understanding of the skills required to become aquatically proficient emphasizing fun and physical fitness through a variety of activities. Under the supervision of our qualified and experienced instructors, your child will practice the skills necessary to become a successful lifeguard. All the sessions will consist of conditioning, lifeguard instruction and special activity days. Conditioning will include swimming, running, calisthenics and team-building games, in addition to other physical activities. Junior Lifeguard Volunteers (Ages 14-16)

The Junior Lifeguard Volunteer Program is designed for teens ages 14-16 who want to develop their leadership skills and gain valuable work experience while volunteering with the Pool Junior Lifeguard Aquatics Camp!

  • Navigate to Aquatics Programs.
  • Select your desired program.
  • Register and complete payment.
  • Thank you for choosing to participate in County Parks programs!

Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations more than 3 weeks prior to start of the program will result in a $50.00 cancellation fee.
Cancellations less than 3 weeks prior to start of program will result in a 50% cancellation fee.
After the 2nd day of the program, refunds or credits will not be given.
Refunds will be issued for any staff-related closures of camp.
There are no refunds or credits for participants suspended or removed from the program for disciplinary reasons.
