All beaches, parks and trails are open. Park restrooms are open. Simpkins Family Swim Center is open by reservation only.
The Parks Department offices are open their regular hours, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, but we encourage you to make an appointment rather than dropping by.
All regularly scheduled programs, special events, recreation and education camps for summer 2020 were cancelled. Parks staff has created new camps, including distance learning and enrichment camps, that comply with the guidelines and best practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
County Parks is beginning to take reservations for outdoor weddings and funeral/memorial ceremonies only. Receptions, parties, picnics and special events are still not allowed. Valencia Hall is not available for outdoor use.
County Parks can now issue permits for outside fitness classes and small youth sports camps. A written COVID-19 protocol document detailing compliance with state required guidelines must be provided and approved by County Parks.
Park crews will maintain and ensure visitor safety in the parks, beaches, open space and trail areas that remain open, sunrise to sunset.
County Parks has created and is continually updating the Virtual Recreation Center, which has free online resources for exercise, learning, and entertainment for all ages.
For private events, reservations and special use permits, County Parks is suspending its cancellation policy for reservations that were booked prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The public may cancel any events or reservations with a full credit to a later time or refund through the end of August 2020.
