Parks facilities that currently remain closed include visitor centers, museums, reservable meeting rooms, and reservable group picnic areas. County Park playgrounds remain closed per the Order from the Parks Director.
All beaches, parks and trails are open. Park restrooms are open. Simpkins Famiy Swim Center is open by reservation only.
The Parks Department offices are open their regular hours, 9:00 am to 4:00 ppm, but we encourage you to make an appointment rather than dropping by.
All regularly scheduled programs, special events, recreation and education camps for summer 2020 were cancelled. Parks staff has created new recreational summer canps, including aquatic camps, that comply with the guidelines and best practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
County Parks is beginning to take reservations for outdoor weddings and funeral/memorial ceremonies only. Receptions, parties, picnics and special events are still not allowed. Valencia Hall is not available for outdoor use.
County Parks can now issue permits for outside fitness classes and small youth sports camps. A written COVID-19 protocal document detailing compliance with state required guidelines must be provided and approved by County Parks.
Parks crews will maintain and ensure customer safety in the parks, beaches, open space and trail areas that remain open, sunrise to sunset.
For private events, reservations and special use permits, County Parks is suspending its cancellation policy for reservations that were booked prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.. The public may cancel any events or reservations with a full credit to a later time or refund through the end of August 2020.
