Time Traveler Summer Day Camp -  July 11 through 21, 2011
Have you ever wondered what life was like 50, 100, or 500 years ago? Find out in this innovative day camp for children ages 6 to 11 years.  California history and life science are combined, providing hands-on, fun-filled, educational activities that allow children to experience times past.  This year's "Story" theme will address history as "the telling of true stories."  Activities include dressing in historical attire; enjoying historic food, crafts & games, and recreating cultural activities of times past, as well as exciting field trips and visits to closed portions of the park.  The program runs Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a fee of $326 for residents and $359 for non-residents. Science Sleuths Summer Day Camp  -  August 1 through August 12, 2011
The best scientists are the ones who are curious about their world.  Join the staff and volunteers of the popular Time Travelers Day Camp for two weeks of hands-on, fun-filled science experiments and engaging wildlife studies.  Physical and life sciences are combined as 6 to 11 year olds explore, discover, and learn about chemistry, physics, geology, biology, botany, and ecology through experiments, microscope viewing, predator-prey games, nature art and more.  Appreciation of the natural world is emphasized while unlocking the scientific secrets that are found at Quail Hollow Ranch.  This year's "Micro to Macro" theme will address observations of the microscopic world up to the macroscopic world and beyond.  The program runs Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a fee of $326 for residents and $359 for non-residents. Culinary Arts & Food Science -  July 25-29 and August 15-19, 2011
Calling all budding chefs and food fans!  Here's your chance to spend a whole week cooking with popular science and cooking instructor Phyllis Endicott.  Students will enjoy fun, engaging, and hands-on activities as they prepare a variety of entrees, deserts, and drinks, using fresh local ingredients.  Discover techniques in mixing and measuring, cooking and baking, kitchen and food safety, knife skills, culinary chemistry, kitchen vocabulary, food facts and a brief history of cooking.  Recipes will be tailored to the needs and desires of the students.  In addition, options for those with allergies, diabetes, or other food related issues will be included.  We will provide a recipe book covering everything we prepared and more at then end of camp.  All ages welcome to attend, but children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult who is also registered for the camp.   Each program runs Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a fee of $125** for residents and $138** for non-residents.
