Picnic Areas

Group Picnic & Barbecue Facilities

Santa Cruz County Parks has a variety of group picnic areas with barbecue facilities that can accommodate family reunions, birthday parties, company outings and organization picnics.

Select your favorite site and reserve it for your event. Check availability, keeping in mind that there is only one booking per date. Download the picnic application form and conditions of use information, and return, with the reservation fees, to the County Parks office at 979 17th Avenue Santa Cruz, CA 95062 (in the Simpkins Family Swim Center). You may phone-in reservations up to three weeks prior the event. If you are planning to have a jump house, let us know, otherwise insurance is not required; however be sure to read the Agreement to Hold Harmless.

• Anna Jean Cummings Park has a group picnic area with a large gazebo area and barbecue grills that can be rented for two smaller picnics or combined for a large group. It is close to state of the art playgrounds. Book early to get a space at this popular spot.
  
  
• Brommer Street Park has a nice picnic spot with tables and a large grill that is adjacent to a newly renovated playground, tennis courts and baseball field.
  
  
• Highlands Park has a large deck shaded by a giant oak that is surrounded by picnic tables. A double grill is available for your barbecue. The Redwood Deck picnic area is adjacent to a new playground and near nature trails.
  
  
• The Hillside Grove Picnic area at Highlands is a lovely area shaded by redwood and oak trees and has a stone barbecue.
  
  
• Pinto Lake County Park has identical covered pavilions with grills and electricity. Pavilion A is near the playground and Pavilion B is near the baseball field.
