 Park Description: This 95 acre park was opened in the summer of 2001 (upper field portion was opened Feb 2002), it is located next to Soquel High School on Old San Jose Road in Soquel. It offers a large modern playground, a large pavillion style picnicing area and multiple athletic fields.

 Parking: Parking lots are located in both the upper and lower areas of the park.
Directions: From Hwy 1 take the Bay/Porter exit, go away from the ocean. Continue on Porter until it turns into Old San Jose Road. Look for the park on your left after Soquel High School. Rental Information: Please call (831) 454-7956 for info. | |
 Public Art: The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors established a Percent for Art Program applicable to County construction projects. As a result of the Board's decision, up to 2% of the construction costs for new buildings and parks can be allocated to place public arwork at the site.
The art at AJ is called Skyballs, by Steve Gillman and Katherine Keefer, 2001. Four sky-blue balls appear to be rolling down the gently sloping hill. A team of artists constructed the 8-9 foot diameter concrete spheres. See artwork in other parks here. | |
