Head Lifeguard (all positions are extra-help)
$12.68-$20.62/Hr. (Lifeguards receive an additional $1.25/Hr. when teaching lessons)

Aquatic Aide, Lifeguard, and New employees must attend a mandatory processing and physical appointment. One may apply online at www.santacruzcountyjobs.com. Lifeguards must have current certifications and pass a performance assessment of lifeguard skills covered in the American Red Cross lifeguard training course. Recreation Leaders Parks, Recreation & Cultural Worker I-IV
$8.41-13.21/Hr.
There are limited positions (temporary/extra help) available for summer day camps, as well as after-school programs. Substitute-leader positions are also available (temporary/extra help). Our exciting summer recreation program for children ages 6-12 years offers participants a wide variety of activities each session. Summer programs begin June 9 and run through August 15. After-school programs operate from early August to early June, Monday-Friday, from 2-6 p.m. Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Friday, and from 12-6 p.m. on Wednesdays. The programs serve children in grades K-6. A variety of activities are offered daily, in addition to homework assistance and weekly field trips. PRCW I applicants (entry level) need no previous experience, just an interest in working with children. PRCW II-IV applicants must have 3-9 months of full-time experience working with 6-12 year-old children in a school or recreation program setting.
