News & Announcements

2nd Annual Floating Pumpkin Patch! We're putting a fun spin on the tradition of pumpkin picking by creating a patch in the pool!  Join us on Oct. 22 from 1-4PM (patch opens at 1:30PM) for an afternoon of fun for all ages. In addition to pumpkin picking, we've got plenty of other fun activities planned for the day including games, prizes, music, popcorn, and pumpkin decorating.

Chanticleer Park Legacy Program - help build Santa Cruz County's first inclusive playground by dedicating a plaque on a bench, tree, or picnic table at Chanticleer County Park.  More info. HERE.

Heart of Soquel - Phases 2 & 3 - Heart of Soquel  - The Santa Cruz County Parks Department is excited to share that we are working towards completing the trail from the Heart of Soquel Park Plaza, along Soquel Creek, to the pedestrian bridge behind the Soquel Elementary School, creating a complete loop around Soquel Village! Please click HERE for more information and to complete a survey about the proposed parkway.  For information about volunteer opportunities, please click HERE.

Santa Cruz County Parks Strategic Plan - We heard what you had to say! Thanks for being involved so far! The Strategic Plan Community Meetings and online survey were a big step for the Parks Department: they helped us hear from people throughout the county about the things most important to them about what we do and what we provide. Based on this input, staff has begun drafting the elements of the Strategic Plan. For more information about the plan, please click HERE!

Melissa West's linolium block prints will be on exhibition August 15 through mid-October at the Simpkins Family Swim Center/Parks Dept. offices.
